What is IB Learning?

The International Baccalaureate Programme isa system of learning that uses rigorous, student-centered learning and focusedactivity to develop curious, inquiry minded students who have an ability tohelp create a better world through well researched observation andinternational mindedness.

Essential Requirements for IBstudents

Some traits are essential to success in theIB program. They are

Language Ability学习能力

Except for the Group 2 (learned language)and Group 1: Language A (Chinese) courses, the curriculum is taught and testedin English.

除第1组(外语)和第2组(语言A-汉语)之外,所有课程的教学和考试都为英语。

Semi-fluency or bilingualism is requiredfor acceptance into the program.

想参加IB项目,必须要具备良好的双语基础。

 

Commitment坚持不懈

The Programme and courses last two fullyears grades 11 and 12. Students accepted will have to be willing to stick withthe program.

IB项目持续2年时间——高二和高三。被录取后学生必须坚持下来。

 

Prior Success 学习水平

The Programme is rigorous and timeconsuming, prior success, proven by coursework. Lets us know the student is upto the task. IB项目标准严格,需要学生投入大量时间学习。学生需要通过之前完成的项目来证明,他/她能够胜任未来的挑战。

 

Consistent Attendance保持出勤

We have a lot of deadlines in the IB Programmethat must be met for the student to complete the courses on time and by therequirements set.  IB项目对时间要求严格,学生必须保证能够按时保质完成。

 

Resilience坚持不懈

The IB Programme causes varying levels ofstress in different students–deadlines, amount of work, less off time than other students.

We want to be sure a student can withstandthe pressure.

What happens after the two years?
项目完成后学生去向

Students apply as normal to colleges intheir late junior and early senior years, and can earn advanced credit in collegesaround the world based on scores in their subjects.

学生将在高二期末或高三第一学期开始申请大学,可以根据他的成绩获得部分大学的学分。

We have a University GuidanceCounselor(UGC) available to help with that process.

我们有升学指导帮助学生进行大学申请。

 

Even students who choose not to try for thewhole diploma can earn credit for the courses they take in the form of IBCertificates of completion, while still receiving a standard high schooldiploma.

没有获得大学预科项目文凭的学生可以获得所学课程的结业证书,同时还能拿到高中毕业证书(但要保证会考科目全部通过)。

A 2007 survey of 400 hiring executives ofmajor US corporations identified their top four requirements of new recruits asbeing oral and written communication skills, critical-thinking andproblem-solving skills, professionalism and work ethic, and teamwork andcollaboration skills (Trilling and Fadel 2009).
